NEOS Protect have doors certified by the Passive House Institute in Germany to meet their standard for doors.
Passive House (PassivHaus) is a world-renowned voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building that reduces the ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating and cooling. The standard covers many types of buildings including residential properties, apartments, schools, and offices. The standard can apply to new buildings and refurbishments.
Doors and windows are a crucial part of Passive House design. The U values of the doors need to have a component value of no more than 0.8 W/(m²K). At NEOS we believe in doing what we can to address the climate crisis, and we have developed a range of doors that are certified to the Passive House standard. These doors include fully glazed doors, solid doors, and doors with vision panels. Glazed side screens are also included where needed.
NEOS specialise in doors for communal housing developments. Main Entrances which usually work with controlled access systems are the focus of the company, as well as the other external doors for services and facilities. For fire-rated applications we have other systems available in the same family of products. The NEOS Passive House doors are identical to the external communal entrance doors, so they typically have magnetic locking and are Secured By Design certified to STS202 BR2, but they are modified to meet the super low insulation requirements of the Passive House standard.
