Magnetic door locks
The standard locking for NEOS Doors is electromagnetic locking.
Magnetic locks have no moving parts so are maintenance free, and they use minimal energy. They are naturally fail safe which is important in communal buildings. They also have been tested in NEOS Doors to the required level of security for buildings which require LPS1175 SR2 or STS202 BR2, this is the regulated level of security on communal entrance doors for multiple occupancy blocks.
The magnetic locks fit into a steel profile running vertically on the closing side door jamb. This magnet housing has an impact on the clear opening width that is available, so it is important to consider the structural opening in design to ensure clear openings of 850mm are achieved.
Typically, a structural opening of 1155mm is required to give a clear opening of 850mm on the NEOS system.
