NEOS HI door system
Secured by Design Dual Certification (Certisecure and Certifire)
The NEOS HI system has dual certification (Secured by Design STS202 BR2) for several configurations; tested for security and/or fire for 60 minutes integrity and insulation alongside high usage.
NEOS Door Profiles
Our NEOS system door profiles are made from cold rolled steel with a thermally insulated fiber-glass thermal break. The profiles have integral gasket grooves which accommodate EPDM weather-seals. The door and frame thickness is 80mm from front to back and the steel profiles are welded tighter for maximum strength construction. The NEOS Protect door system has an excellent thermal performance rating with a typical U value of 1.3W/m²K. An Ultra-low version of the profiles is available where Passivhaus or other environmentally friendly values are required.
Door Closer
Our NEOS standard door closer is the Dorma ITS 96. This closer is concealed within the head of the door and the slide channel is hidden in the door frame. The closer is factory fitted with easy adjustment of power, speed, and latch action. There is a cushioned limit stay feature which provides progressive dampening for protection of the wall and doorset.
Magnetic Locking
NEOS Controlled entry doorsets are factory fitted with electro-magnetic locks in a special lock housing. The magnets are IP67 weatherproof and corrosion resistant; ideal for use on doorsets to the external face of a building. The Electro-magnetic locks are 12v DC and have a current of 250 mA and the wiring discreetly exits the frame, for connection to a door entry system. As per our Secured by Design accreditation, a minimum of two magnets must be fitted to the NEOS door system. However, the quantity of magnets required changes on inward opening doors, double doors, and doors over 2500mm high whereby three magnets are required to achieve the Secured by Design STS 202 BR2 standard of security and high usage.
Hinges
Our NEOS accredited system uses robust steel bolt on hinges with a blue chromated finish. The hinges have 3D adjustment, allowing perfect alignment of the door. The Hinges have a diameter of 20mm and are 180mm in length and our NEOS Secured by Design system requires three hinges. Extra hinges will be added if the dimensions or weight of the door require them for smooth operation.
Pull handle
The NEOS system standard stainless steel pull handle is 420 mm long with a 25 mm diameter. Fixings are hidden and a stainless-steel push plate on the push side of the door is standard. A Full height pull handle can be fitted on request.
Threshold
An aluminum flat bar threshold is fitted as standard, and fixed to a steel strap which is welded to the frame. The door has a weather-seal which closes onto the thresh internally and externally. The overall height of the thresh is 15mm in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Powder Coating
NEOS doors are coated in TGIC and Lead-free polyester powder coating, which are available in colours from the RAL range. The doors receive a two-coat anti corrosion primer pre-treatment. Three gloss levels are available (Matt, Gloss and Semi-Gloss) in certain metallic and anodic finishes.
Glazing
The NEOS standard glazing comprises of insulated glazed units that have been security tested with the door system. Typically, the unit comprises of laminated glass. The standard G-value of the glass is 0.47g with a light transmission of 73%. Our security tested glazing achieves a standard acoustic rating of 38 dB. Other glazing values/specs are possible on request.
Solid Panels
Our NEOS door system has been tested using Solid Panels (Opaque Panels) which comprise of steel sheets either side of a mineral wool core which achieve Eurocode A1/A2 for flame spread requirements. Doorsets can be made solid or partial solid in various configurations as tested to Secured by Design STS 202 BR2.
Fireman’s Switches and Door Entry Panels
As with communal doorsets, there is often a requirement for door entry panels or fireman switches. If these are required in our side screens, we can leave an aperture for these to be added on site. Alternatively, if the back boxes are free issued to us, we can factory fit them in the side screen and the door entry company can complete the remainder on site.
Emergency Exits
Our door system enables heavy duty panic hardware to be fitted to an emergency exit door which is compliant with EN179 and EN1125. Our doorsets are inherently fail safe in the event of a fire or power failure.
Flat Entrance Doors
Flat entrance doors can be provided with our NEOS HI thermally broken system. A 60-minute fire rating can be achieved with our tested system including letter plate. Flat entrance doors have multi-point locking as standard.
Installation and fitting
NEOS doors have two methods of fixing:
1) On buildings with a thermal cavity, the doors have fixing straps (two fixings are fitted to each strap) to tie the frame to the internal blockwork or studding.
2) A through the frame method is optional but does not give optimal thermal performance.
