Powder coating

NEOS Protect have worked with powder coating experts Axalta to provide an excellent corrosion free solution for our steel doors.

The three-coat system is proven in the most hostile inner-city environments, and a highly aesthetic architectural finish is produced.

Pre-treatment
NEOS doors are produced from zinc coated steel profiles, so there is innate zinc protection before fabrication. Postproduction the welded areas are abraded, and all surfaces are textured and degreased in preparation for coating.

The doors are then pretreated with an acid etch primer to give a key for the following coat.
The doors are then coated with Alesta ZN, anti-corrosion primer. This is a zinc rich powder primer (60-100 microns) which is then stoved to recommended timescales.

Top Coat
The doors are then coated with Alesta AP, this is an architectural polyester powder coating finish (70-80 microns) which is stoved at 180˚for 12 minutes.

Anodic and metallic finishes are also available. These special finishes replicate anodized finishes.
Alesta coatings are. Classification A2 (non-flammable) of reaction to fire in accordance with NF EN 13501-1+A1 : 2013

Alesta coatings are approved as Qualicoat Class 1.
